Program Activity Carbon farming Programme

With an objective carbon farming is an approach to agriculture that involves managing land in a way that sequesters carbon from the atmosphere and stores it in the soil and vegetation. The goal of carbon farming is to mitigate climate change by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere GSO starts the Carbon rice farming programme in three block of jajpur District of Odisha. The block are as- Dasrathapur, Binjharpur & Jajpur . The project was implemented in February-2022 to onwards. This project was sponsored by Bayer’s Crop Science PVT Ltd in Partnership with Dinabandhu Trust, Kolkota and subsequently PARIBARTAN partner with Dinabandhu Trust. On Paribartan downline 03 NGO are now operate at-Jajpur, jagasinghpur & Puri.
On Rabi Crops implemented stage the farmers (Land Owner) was provide data ( Aadhar Card, Land acre village Name etc. Finally all the farmers make an Agreement with BAYERs Company with agreement to obey all term & condition .Farmers meeting was organized three blocks also.
On Kharif crops, the farmers motivated on AWD (Alternate wetting and Drying) installed on their field. On a Acre two pipes are minimum installed. On this methodology, how many water are required for this field? The holes on this pipe are on distance 2 ft. So, Farmers are saving in electricity & Diesel on save power consumption. In this connection, manure also requires less.
Due to reduce Mithen Gas consumption, it will grate impact on climate change. The farmers will get incentive according on their field capacity.
